PetitFelts
PetitFelts was founded in 2011 by Jocelyn Gayle Krodman, an artist residing and creating in the Hudson Valley. Having graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Jocelyn honed her skills with various materials, notably metal, until her artistic pursuits took a transformative turn when she discovered the art of needle felting, a process of sculpting wool with barbed needles.
The collection at PetitFelts has expanded over the years to encompass wall hangings, mobiles, needle felting kits, a fair trade assortment of ornaments, and most recently, a small line of ceramics. The mingling of ceramics with her signature designs was sparked by her partnership with ceramist, Andrew Molleur, and has since added a new dimension to PetitFelts. Jocelyn infuses her pieces with love, distinct personality, and a touch of whimsy. All fair trade ornaments are meticulously designed by Jocelyn and lovingly handcrafted by artisans in Nepal. Striving to support sustainable practices and foster economic empowerment, PetitFelts proudly collaborates with a fair trade certified factory that embraces eco-friendly production.
In addition to her creative pursuits, Jocelyn is a dedicated educator, imparting her needle felting expertise through numerous workshops, both online and in person. PetitFelts has garnered recognition in esteemed publications such as New York Magazine, Frankie Magazine, Bon Appetit, among others. Her achievements include receiving the prestigious 2015 American Craft Council Emerging Artist Award.
