Shipping and Returns
All sale items, apothecary items including perfume, beauty, skincare, intimates, food, face masks, hair accessories, sunglasses, jewelry, and vintage/found items are final sale.
Packages are usually shipped within 1-3 business days (We are technically open everyday, but "business days" means Monday through Friday, excluding weekends). We don't ship on holidays. ***Please take note: "Priority Mail" is just the standard rate for USPS. It is not an expedited rate, even though the name "priority" seems like it is. It's just regular mail for packages. USPS Priority Mail generally gets to your door within 1-3 business days (once it leaves our shop). When you receive the USPS calculated rate in your shopping cart, it might say "1 day" underneath. Ignore that timeline; we aren't able to delete it on our end. Refer to the timeline above for shipping times. Thank you!
After Prelude & Dawn has given your package to the carrier, you will assume the risk of loss for the merchandise. Prelude & Dawn is not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen packages. If you think there was a delivery error, please go to your local post office to find out which mail carrier is on your route. Sometimes they can track your package with your local mail carrier.
Unfortunately, we are not offering international shipping at this time. We will in the future, and when we do, we will make an announcement.
If you have any special shipping instructions, please leave a note in the "Order Notes" section in the shopping cart. We will do everything we can to accommodate you. Yes we can send it as a gift! Just write “gift” in the order notes section, and if you want to include a note, put your note there as well. Please keep in mind that we have to include a lot of padding to your items that are sent, so even "gift" shipments will still have bubble wrap, cardboard, or other materials to keep breakable objects safe. We don't custom wrap your gifts...we send everything with all of the necessary padding along with colorful tissue and dried flowers. Price tags are removed, and a packing slip is not included.
In Store Pick-up
We offer free in store pick-up. Just choose the "pick up" option during check out. We will send you an email when your items are ready; it's usually in 1-2 hours. You can come into the store to pick it up from 10-6 daily. For apparel, you are welcome to buy something online, come to the shop, try it on, and if it doesn't fit, we will issue you a credit. To get shop credit, you must come in within 14 days of purchase.
Online Clothing Returns
We understand the need to try on clothing. To allow for this, we will issue refunds for online orders for new clothing items that are received back to us within 14 days of delivery in their original, unworn condition, with tags attached. You must first email us for approval on the return at firstname.lastname@example.org. Shipping fees are non refundable, and the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. All Other Returns
PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPT FOR IN-STORE EXCHANGES, and give us your order number when you arrive.
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer store credit. You must first email us for approval on the credit (email@example.com) and the return items must be shipped within 14 days of delivery. All items must be returned in their original condition, (unworn, unused, unblemished, unwashed, unaltered, with original tags attached, in original packaging, not damaged in return shipping). Unfortunately, shipping fees are non refundable, and the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. Our return shipping address is below.

If your item arrives damaged, or we made a mistake and sent the wrong item to you, please contact us within 3 days of receipt, and we will offer you a full refund, or an exchange free of shipping fees. However, sometimes we have to receive the damaged/defective item before we can process an exchange, credit, or refund.
Returns will be processed within 3-5 business days upon approval. We will send you a confirmation email once we process the return / issue a store credit.
